Our History
Pollet Associates traces its origins to 1980 when company Principal, Leigh Pollet, began his career with one of the metropolitan New York regions preeminent real estate appraisers. Since then, Leigh has served as a corporate executive and Chief Appraiser for national and regional financial institutions, both ‘turning around’ underperforming divisions or starting subsidiaries that went on to outstanding financial and collateral protection success.

Leigh’s last corporate position was with one of the nation’s largest banks, where he self- started an appraisal division working with a newly formed lending division. That division grew to exceed $2 billion/year in its first year; all of which collateral Mr. Pollet was ultimately responsible for. With the success of that division, he was given the added task to turn-around a second $2b/year appraisal division.

In 2009, with the advent of the Home Valuation Code of Conduct then Dodd-Frank and then Gramm-Leach-Bliley, Mr. Pollet left the institution, re-acquired Pollet Assoc and, as an ‘expert’ on these issues, worked across the country to assist financial institutions, their corporate boards and leadership, to successfully meet changing federal requirements. He also turned Pollet Associates ‘around’ from a mortgage appraisal business into the real property and land use consultancy as Pollet Associates exists today.
